~ Heroic Nude: Rannveig ~
Since I haven't had much time lately, I wasn't really in the mood to work on a very complex piece, so I started working on some sketches I had been planning to do in long while: a series of nudes representing my characters.
The first in the series is Rannveig.
How I got the idea: During the OC-Training where we have a "body type" task, I realized that I haven't figured out the body type of most of my characters and, with clothes on, they all look pretty much the same. I'm planning to make them as realistic as possible as opposed to fitness bodies. Why nude? Ever since I visited Italy 3 years ago and was captivated by its amazing art I thought of drawing my characters in "heroic nude" style; I never got to do it because I'm bad at anatomy, but now I feel more confident about it. Plus, it's not known whether the Norse wore what we call "underwear" today.
So, prepare to see more like this of pretty much everybody soon! Artistic nudes and a representative pose/setting for each character. I won't post them separately, I'd rather make a collage of the entire thing once it's done. But this is just a preview.
